Have you ever wondered what happens at a
Life Group gathering?
If you are scared about what could happen at a small group gathering, you are not alone! Fear of the unknown is common. Here is a
list of the most common misconceptions of our
Life Groups ...
I’m going to be forced to share personal information. This idea can scare the bravest among us. Our groups aren’t designed around the idea of everyone sharing their deepest secrets or private information. Contact information will be shared so that the group can stay informed, but no will force anyone to share beyond their comfort level - ever!
I’m going to feel embarrassed about my understanding of the Bible. You are not alone - very few of us feel like we have a good grasp of the Bible and what it has to say. The greatest aspect of joining a Life Group, is that you will gain more understanding about the Bible through time spent reading and applying it together with your group.
I won’t like the people in my small group. And ... maybe they won’t like you! But you’ll never know unless you meet them. One change in our Life Group structure is that we have a 6-week trial period that allows every member to try out their group and then decide if they want to continue. Members can choose to leave that group freely (with no questions) at the end of that trial period.
I won’t be able to get out of group once I join it. As mentioned above, every new group forms with a 6-week trial period. Leaving after that point is completely acceptable. Also, our new Life Groups form with an 18-24 month life span. At the end of that agreed upon timeline, the group will end and members will form new groups.
I’m too busy to add another thing to my schedule. We are hoping that you can see the risk in not making time for a group in your schedule. Groups can meet whenever they want to so they can fit into your schedule. We are also hoping that several groups will choose to meet as a part of our Wednesday evening “reFuel” structure - accomplishing two goals with one night!
