About

A Brief History
In 1999, several families from the Byron Center community began to feel that God was preparing them to start a new church. Most of these families were attending Grand Rapids First Church of the Nazarene (now Grand Rapids International Fellowship or GRIF). God was also speaking to the leadership at GRIF to be more intentional about reaching out to more people in the name of Christ.
Together we prayed and planned, asking God for wisdom and direction that would lead us to understand His perfect will for this situation. God began to answer our prayers and open doors in the Byron Center community and soon, the vision for this new church became a reality!
In October of 2000, High Pointe Community Church held its first public worship service in the Byron Center Christian Middle School with over 180 in attendance. The vision of our sponsoring church and High Pointe's launch team was off the ground and running with God's strength and breath.
Today, we are continuing to see God's hand at work. With over 180 families, the passion to reach out and grow is still the same. God blessed us with land in Byron Center and as of December 2009 we have a mission-minded facility that is now serving our community in many ways. God continues to show his faithfulness to us and it is our desire to serve him with an energy and passion that will be honoring to Him. Many exciting things have taken place, but we believe the most exciting days are still ahead. We want to invite you to join us on this journey!
